Manzushir Monastery ruins, Hiking to Bogd Khaan mountain
Manzushir Monastery is one of destroyed temples of Mongolia by communist purges of 1937. It’s located in beautiful valley of Bogd Khaan mountain covered by pine forest, in 55 km from Ulaanbaatar. The main temple was restored partially in 1990s and it is now monastery museum. Climbing behind the main temple takes you some 18th Century Buddhist Rock paintings.
Morning drive to and visit ruins of Manzushir monastery. Hiking to beautiful green valley in Bogd Khaan mountain with pine and cedar trees. Visit monastery museum, temple remains and see Buddhist Rock paintings of 18th Century.
Evening drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
